Tiivistelmä:
Abstract:		Suomen pintageologiakartta tehtiin OneGeology-Europe -projektia varten digitoimalla Suomen maaperäkartta 1:1 000 000 vuodelta 1993 ja liittämällä siihen aineistoa Fennoskandian kilven kartasta (Geological map of the Fennoscandian Shield) 1:2 000 000 vuodelta 2001 niihin kohtiin, joissa maaperäkartassa oli merkittynä kalliopaljastuma-alue. OneGeology-Europe -projektin tavoitteena on luoda Euroopan kattava harmonisoitu geologinen digitaalikartta-aineisto. Suomen pintageologiakartta-aineisto sisältää maaperä- ja kallioperäyksiköt alueina sekä Fennoskandian kilven kartan impaktikraatterit alueina ja tektoniikka viivoina. Aineisto on luokiteltu uudelleen OneGeology-Europe aineistomäärittelyohjeiden mukaisesti. Viimeaikaisten radiometristen ikämääritysten perusteella karttatietokannassa olevaa kivilajiaineistoa on muokattu ja ryhmitelty uudelleen 2009-2010 yhdessä Ruotsin ja Norjan geologisten tutkimuslaitosten kanssa OneGeology-Europe -projektin tarpeisiin. Kartta-aineiston käyttömittakaava on 1:1 000 000.

The Surface Geology Map of Finland was produced for the OneGeology-Europe Project by digitising the 1993 edition of the Quaternary map of Finland and by including data from the 2001 Geological map of the Fennoscandian Shield for those localities that were marked as an area of rock exposure on the Quaternary map. The aim of the OneGeology-Europe Project has been to create a harmonised digital map data set covering Europe. The Surface Geology Map of Finland data set includes Quaternary and bedrock units as areas and tectonic features as lines. Additionally, impact craters on the Geological Map of the Fennoscandian Shield are shown as areas. The data set has been reclassified in accordance with the data set specifications given by OneGeology-Europe. On the basis of recent radiometric age determinations, the lithological data set in the map database was re-edited and regrouped in 2009-2010. This has been done with the Geological Surveys of Sweden (SGU) and Norway (NGU) to meet the needs of the OneGeology-Europe project. The scale of use of the map data is 1:1 000 000.

Purpose: 		Suomen pintageologiakartta tehtiin OneGeology-Europe -projektia varten. Projektin tavoitteena on luoda Euroopan kattava geologinen dynaaminen digitaalikartta-aineisto. Aineisto soveltuu käytettäväksi yleistarkasteluun ja siitä näkyy pienessä mittakaavassa Suomen maanpinnalla olevat geologiset yksiköt (eloperäinen kerros poistettuna).

The Quaternary Map of Finland (1993) and the Geological map of the Fennoscandian Shield (2001) have been used as a source data. The waterway outlines and national boundaries in the data set are based on the EuroGlobalMap (version 2.1), to which user rights have been granted to OneGeology-Europe for the time of the project.

Process step: 		Suomen maaperäkartta 1:1 000 000 vuodelta 1993 (painettu kartta) digitoitiin vuonna 2009 skannaamalla ja georeferoimalla sekä siirtämällä vektorimuotoon TNTmips-ohjelmalla. Vektoriviivat yhdistettiin yleistettyihin vesistörajoihin ja valtakunnanrajoihin Fingis-ohjelmalla. Aineiston vesistö- ja valtiorajat perustuvat EuroGlobalMap:in versioon 2.1, jonka käyttöoikeuden EuroGeographics on luovuttanut OneGeology-Europe -projektille hankkeen ajaksi. Maaperäaineiston jatkokäsittely on tehty ArcGIS-ohjelmistolla. Maaperäaineistoon liitettiin digitaalinen kallioperäaineisto Fennoskandian kilven kartasta (Geological map of the Fennoscandian Shield) 1:2 000 000 vuodelta 2001 niihin kohtiin, joissa maaperäkartassa oli merkittynä kalliopaljastuma-alue. The 1993 Quaternary Map of Finland (printed map) was digitised in 2009 by scanning and georeferencing and by conversion to vector format using the TNTmips program. The vector lines were connected to generalised waterway outlines and national boundaries with the FINGIS program. The waterway outlines and national boundaries in the data set are based on the EuroGlobalMap (version 2.1), to which user rights have been granted to OneGeology-Europe for the time of the project. The post-processing of the Quaternary data has been done with ArcGIS software. Bedrock digital data from the 2001 Geological map of the Fennoscandian Shield (2001) were joined to the surficial deposit data at those localities that were marked as an area of rock exposure on the Quaternary map. The data set has been reclassified in accordance with the data set specifications given by OneGeology-Europe. On the basis of recent radiometric age determinations, the lithological data set in the map database was re-edited and re-grouped in 2009-2010. This has been done together with the Geological Surveys of Sweden (SGU) and Norway (NGU) to meet the needs of the OneGeology-Europe project.

Processing environment:		 Aineiston vektoroinnissa on käytetty TNTmips-ohjelmaa. Vektoriviivat on yhdistetty yleistettyihin vesistörajoihin ja valtakunnanrajoihin Fingis-ohjelmalla. Maaperäaineiston jatkokäsittely on tehty ArcGIS-ohjelmistolla. Fennoskandian kallioperäkartta-aineistoa on koostettu ja prosessoitu ArcINFO- ja ArcView-ohjelmistoilla.

The TNTmips program was used to convert the data set to vector format. The vector lines were connected to a generalised waterway outlines and national boundaries with the FINGIS program. The post-processing of the Quaternary data has been done with ArcGIS software. The Geological map of the Fennoscandian Shield data set has been compiled and processed with ArcINFO and ArcView software.
