| Tiivistelmä: Abstract: | Aineisto kuuluu EMODnet (European Marine Observation and Data network) Geology EU-hankkeessa tuotettuun Euroopan merialueet kattavaan merenpohjan aineistokokonaisuuteen. EMODnet Geology hankkeessa (http://www.emodnet-geology.eu/) kootaan ja harmonisoidaan geologista aineistoa Euroopan merialueilta päätöksenteon ja laajamittaisen aluesuunnittelun tueksi. EMODnet Geology hankkeessa on 36 partneria 30:sta Euroopan maasta.
Aineisto Suomen merialueilta perustuu Geologian tutkimuskeskuksen Tiedonkeruu-ohjelmassa tuotettuun 1:20 000 merenpohjan geologiseen aineistoon. Aineisto on harmonisoitu viiteen FOLK:n maalajiluokkaan (savi + siltti (mud), hiekkaiset savet, saviset hiekat, karkearakeiset sedimentit; sekasedimentti) ja kallioon (http://tupa.gtk.fi/metaviite/seabed_substrate_250k_guidelines.pdf). Se kuvastaa maalajeja merenpohjan pinnasta 30 cm syvyydelle asti. GTK:n tuottama alkuperäinen aineisto on yleistetty 1:1 000 000 mittakaavaan. Aineistosta on poistettu 4 km2 pienemmät alueet.
/ Seabed substrate 1:1 000 000 is one of the products produced in the EMODnet (European Marine Observation and Data network) Geology EU project. Project provided seabed geological material from the European maritime areas. The EMODnet Geology project (http://www.emodnet-geology.eu/) collects and harmonizes geological data from the European sea areas to support decision-making and sustainable marine spatial planning. The EMODnet Geology partnership has included 36 marine organizations from 30 countries. This data includes the EMODnet seabed substrate map at a scale of 1:1 000 000 from the Finnish marine areas. It is based on the data produced on a scale of 1:20 000 by the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK). The data has been harmonized and reclassified into five Folk substrate classes (clay + silt (mud), sandy clays, clayey sands, coarse sediments, mixed sediments) and bedrock. The data describes the seabed substrate from the uppermost 30 cm of the sediment column. The data have been generalized into a target scale (1:1 000 000). | Käyttötarkoitus: Purpose: | Aineisto on luotu päätöksenteon, tutkimuksen ja laajamittaisen merialuesuunnittelun tueksi. Aineisto on tuotettu 1:1 000 000 mittakaavaan ja se kertoo merenpohjan maalajien esiintymisen vain yleisellä tasolla, eikä se sovellu tarkemman mittakaavan tarkasteluun tai käyttöön. Aineisto kertoo merenpohjan pinnan koostumuksen 30 cm syvyydelle asti.
/ The data has been created for the decision-making, research and large-scale marine spatial planning. The material is produced on a 1:1 000 000 scale and it describes the seabed substrate at a general level only, and is not suitable for a detailed analysis. The data tells the seabed substrate composition from the surface to 30 cm depth. |
| Käyttökelpoisuus: Use limitation: | Aineisto on tuotettu 1:1 000 000 mittakaavaan ja se kertoo merenpohjan maalajien esiintymisen vain yleisellä tasolla, eikä se sovellu tarkemman mittakaavan tarkasteluun tai käyttöön esim. merenpohjanrakentamisen edellyttämiin tarkempiin tutkimuksiin.
Aineisto käsittää vain ylimmän 30 cm kerroksen merenpohjan pinnan alta eikä anna tietoa syvemmällä olevista aineksesta. Pintamaalaji-aineisto perustuu asiantuntija-arvioon.
Merenpohjan maalajit 1:1 000 000 aineistosta on poistettu 4 km2 pienemmät alueet.
/ The dataset has been compiled at 1:1 000 000 scale from background information that have been compiled at a more detailed scale. The map therefore gives an overview of the marine regions in question. It is not suitable for local/detail scale analysis. The holder of the intellectual property rights (IPR) to the data, which existed prior to the EMODnet Geology Contract being entered into, is GTK. GTK (the IPR holder) give no warranty, condition or representation as to the quality, accuracy or completeness of the data, information, or service, or its suitability for any use or purpose. All implied conditions relating to the quality or suitability of the information, and all liabilities arising from the supply of the information (including any liability arising in negligence) are excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law. The data tells the seabed substrate composition from the surface only to 30 cm depth, not deeper. The data have been generalized into a target scale (1:1 000 000). The smallest cartographic unit within the data is 4 km2. |
